The amount of online instruction has increased to the point that it now exceeds that of onsite instruction. While not getting into the issue of which mode is better it certainly becomes an issue when the district decides to build new buildings. While newer buildings may bring new functionality, what do we do with the old buildings? How much excess physical capacity do we have in terms of buildings and real estate? While balance sheet numbers reflect historical costs, they don’t necessarily reflect market costs or opportunity costs. Isn’t he something we should know before asking for more money?
