2027 Budget Process Plan

The 2026 budget was approved with virtually no discussion and we are now nearly halfway through the fiscal year ending 6-30-26.

The 2027 budget is due by law in mid-June but the Board tries to wrap it up in April in May. This gives the Board at least 6 months to actually study the budget and ask the right questions, rather than being absent from the process last ear while the administration stonewalled my inquiries.
I will be asking the administration a lot of detailed questions but they are all an attempt to answer the following questions:

1) How much is spent on instruction by general subject area
2) What are the costs of online education vs on-site education
3) What are the costs of running each campus
4) How are the course broken down by these objectives
a. Bachelor degress
b. Associate degress
c. General studies to transfer to universities
d. College credits for high-school students
e. Certificate programs
f. General interest not leading to degrees or certificates

5) How are revenues matched to each of the areas listed above?

Here is the budget process described in the packet from the 9-18-25
